Julius Winfield Erving II, commonly known as “Dr. J” is a former professional basketball player of both the ABA and NBA. Erving helped revolutionize the game of basketball by his smooth and flashy style of play in the American Basketball Association (ABA) and was considered as the best player in that league when it later merged with the National Basketball Association (NBA) after the 1975-76 season.
